Well instead of the agreed upon duration of show, this show ended a little early. After every show I provide an opportunity for the person who booked me to give me some sincere feedback, and in this case the shorter show was a concern.

The booker asked me to remedy this and I am glad we were able to resolve this so quickly.

A few people have asked if I really do honor the money back guarantee. The short answer? Yes. If I ever have the privilege to perform for you, and you are not 100% satisfied, you don’t pay.

If you’re not happy, I’m not happy. Your satisfaction is my biggest concern. What other magician can promise that?

I have been crazier than a hoot owl. I applied, audtioned and was ultimately passed over for a new magic reality show that is being cast. There are some AMAZING (no pun intended) competitors our there. Once I get the ok I will post some info.

Bring everyone you know to the Almaden Library on 4/25 at 6:00 for an hour of fun filled, interactive magic. I created this show just for this event, so there are some effects I will only perform once. If you miss it, they won’t be seen again. The library is located on Camden avenue right between Mcabee and Almaden Expressway.

Finally, “Do the Hustle” is having me back for another taping. I’m not sure if you saw my previous performance, it can be viewed here skip ahead to the 9 minute mark. The winner wins some great 70′s themed prizes, and I lost out on my try.

One of my idols, David Copperfield recently taught a trick on the Disney website. It’s pretty cool. I’m not sure where he got the special rubber bands, but I would think any two different colored rubber bands would work.

A lot has been going on since my last major update.  I have been asked to contribute magic lessons to the local paper.  Since I teach lessons at a variety of community centers I have been offered a monthly column in the Almaden Resident.

I’ve been busy preparing for an amazing show in two weeks. You know magic is mysterious and fun? What better way to show your loved one that you love them than bringing them to a magic show? There is an early show for the children, and a potluck for all. How do you know I love you? I’m personally inviting you to this.

I was on a retreat this past weekend and the fact that I’m a magician came up. I performed a few effects and a few people said “that was pretty cool”, and “neat” but it was monotone. As a performer it’s hard to gauge something like that. Not everything requires applause, but it can start a conversation.

On the second day of the retreat I did a few effects and one person went crazy (in a good way). Another was laughing hysterically. While their reactions were a bit more over the top than the others, they seemed more sincere.

A comedian I respect named Pete Holmes about magicians, audiences, and reactions.

For the first time in awhile I got stage fright. I was scheduled to do a quick set at a local comedy club last night, and my nerves got the best of me. When I perform at festivals and private parties those are people that want to see magic. Stand up comedy is a whole different world.

Between trying to write jokes that tied into the magic, make the magic funny and entertaining, and doing all of that in 7 minutes is tough. So I called a buddy of mine and asked him to fill in. I’ll be performing at other venues, just not the comedy clubs for awhile.

Here is what I am trying to avoid. A rant in this video is an example of comedy club magicians as told by one of my idols, Patton Oswalt.

I hope you had an amazing New Years eve, and hope you were safe and sane. I stayed in, drank some coffee and watched “The Office” marathon. I know, it was crazy. With the New Year came some new resolutions, and one is that I resolve to post here more, and to see more of you guys at my shows.
